Amenhotep

My pharoah is Amenhotep.Amenhotep was the seconed pharoah of the 18th dynasty of Egypt.I chose him because he was born to an interesting pharoah that I like and I taught that he was interesting.


Amenhotep was born in the year 1526B.C. to Ahmose the 1st and Ahmose-Nefertari.He had 2 older brothers Ahmose-ankh and Ahmose Sapair.They both died before him.However,sometime in the 8 years between Ahmose 17th regnal year and his death Amenhotep became crown prince. He then moved on to the throne and became king for 21 years.


He inherited the kingdom formed by his father's military conquests and maintained dominance over Nubia and the Nile Delta. He continued to rebuild temples in Upper Egypt.His projects have been mostly obliverated by later construction projects.He died in 1506B.C. From written sources
it was knon that he commissined the architect Ineni to expand the Temple of Karnak.His tomb biography shows that he created a 20 cubit gate of limestone on the south side of Karnak.


Amenhotep was the first king of Egypt to separate his temple from his tomb,probably to keep robbers from finding his tomb easily.The remains of his temple are most probably found at the north end of Deir el-Bahri.His temple was locaed where Hatshepsut intended to build her temple.The location of his tomb is still unknown.


He had married his sister Ahmose-Meritamon.He also had a child with her. Amenemhat had died young.Thutmose took his place as pharoah when he died.Which means that he was the third king in the 18th dynasty.


There are still some mysteries about Amenhotep out there.I've had a great experiance on this project and pharoah.Amenhotep wasnt a mean pharoah but a nice one.

The pharoah I am doing is Amenhotep. NOBODY ELSE TAKE HIM!!!
